1 stick butter
1/8 cup flour
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1 1/2 cups Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp salt
dash of pepper
16 oz imitation crab meat
1 cup mozzarella cheese
Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
Separate or chop up the imitation crab meat into bite-sized pieces. (or prepare the chicken)
Cook pasta according to package directions in a large pot. Drain. Return pasta to pot.
While pasta is cooking, heat butter in a saucepan over medium heat until butter is melted. Using a wire whisk, stir in flour until smooth and cook for about 1 minute. Do not brown the flour. Then whisk in the heavy cream and then the parmesan cheese. Heat until cheese is stringy. Add salt. Continue heating over low heat until heated through and cheese melts, about 5 minutes.
Add sauce and crab to the drained pasta and stir to combine. Transfer to the greased baking dish. Top with mozzarella cheese. Bake for 15 minutes.
Optional Add-ins:
1 Tbsp. olive oil
4 Roma Tomatoes, thinly sliced
8 ounces sliced mushrooms
½ cup Kalamata olives
Sauté tomatoes and mushrooms in oil until tender. Add, with olives, to pasta when adding the sauce and crab.
